SOCSTO Launches New Society Extranet

SOCTSO - The Society of Chief Trading Standards Officers represents the views of local authority trading standards services and seeks to influence trading standards policy issues on a national basis.

BOCC has been working with Trading Standards Institute in collaboration with SOCTSO to launch their new site in time for their annual conference in July 2008.

The site, powered by YouDu CMS 2007, is a secure extranet site, where only authorised SOCTSO users can gain access. SOCTSO administrators manage the authorised users, using the standard security infrastructure of the CMS. 

The site also includes a number of powerful Web 2.0 features that allows all users to come together as an online community:

• RSS news feed subscriptions
• Discussion forums for sharing information and views
• Searchable documents area for advice, support and guidance
• eNewsletter / email alerts sign-up

The new website was visually designed by SOCTSO's appointed design agency and BOCC liaised with them to develop the HTML templates for the new site. The templates were then integrated with the CMS.

Web development, visual / interface design advice and web server hosting all provided by BOCC.
